Section 61

It is possible that you are in New Zealand on an invalid visa or incorrect travel conditions.

When this occurs you become automatically an over-stayer. This is a very sermious offence and therefore should not be taken lightly and may result in deportation from New Zealand with an automatic ban for 5 years.

Under certain conditions you may be able to lodge an application subject to section 61 (and section 11) of the Immigration Act 2009.

Reconsiderations

This is applicable for applicants who are in New Zealand on a valid visa and their application has been declined.

The Reconsideration Request must be submitted within a reasonable time frame, normally within 10 to 15 days, and requires to be supported with new information or interpretation of the documents submitted.

Please note that the information will be assessed by a different case officer
